Completed in 1983 and the first built work of William Lim Associates, its iconic pink-coloured tiled facade has made it a distinctive landmark along Holland Road. Participants will be able to view the penthouse residence of the late William Lim where intellectual exchange and ideas were fermented. The tour will be guided by eminent architect, educator and heritage advocate Richard K.F. Ho, who worked on the project as a young graduate. He will share his intimate knowledge and unforgettable memories of the building, as well as insights into arguably one of Singapore’s most cutting edge architectural practices that nurtured generations of architects, writers and researchers.

Our Guide
Richard Ho graduated from the NUS School of Architecture in 1982 and worked for William S W Lim and Kerry Hill, before venturing to Europe where he worked for six years in Austria and Italy – the last two years in Milan with Aldo Rossi. He returned to Singapore and set up RichardHO Architects in 1991. His firm has won numerous local and international design awards, including the President’s Design Awards 2013 – the highest and most prestigious award conferred by the State to a design professional. Richard Ho is active in professional and public service, including Singapore Institute of Architects, Board of Architects, and various government advisory panels over the years. As a design educator, Richard has nurtured generations of aspiring architects for more than two decades, and is currently Professor in Practice at his alma mater.
